Marriage License

Marriage licenses are NOW ISSUED BY APPOINTMENT ONLY 

Mondays through Wednesday 10:00AM- 2:00PM, 

Thursday 10:00 AM-2:00 PM & 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM and Fridays 9:30AM- 11:30AM. Appointments will be made on a first come, first serve basis.

A marriage license is required of any parties getting married in Clinton, the cost is $50.00

Certified copies may be issued after your ceremony, the cost is $20.00 per copy

Marriage Certificate Request

  • License is valid for 65 days from the date of issuance
  • Both parties must present a valid photo ID
  • Both parties must sign the license and take oath in the presence of the Town Clerk or Assistant Town Clerk
  • Date of the ceremony is required when applying for your license
  • You must supply the name & contact information of the officiate at the time of application
  • There is no waiting period between applying and receiving your license
  • Blood tests are no longer required
We ask that you please arrive at least one hour prior to closing when applying for your marriage license
