[ARCHIVED] REGISTERING OR RE-REGISTERING A VEHICLE AT THE DMV

If you owe motor vehicle taxes to any Connecticut city or town, you will be unable to register or re-register a vehicle until all taxes are paid.
To obtain a Department of Motor Vehicles release :
In Clinton, if you are 60 days or more delinquent in paying your motor vehicle tax bills and want an immediate release, you must pay with a bank check, money order or cash in the office. Bank checks or money orders are to be written out to the Town of Clinton.
Pay by credit card on this website and we will release on the next business day. Payment by personal or business check requires a 10 business day hold before a release can be granted.
