[ARCHIVED] Revaluation for 2020 will start this fall 2019

The Town of Clinton, CT, Assessor’s office has a contract with Vision Government Solutions Inc. of Hudson, MA to develop and implement the State mandated revaluation.  The date of this reassessment will be October 1, 2020 and valuations will reflect the real estate market preceding that date.

The project will commence with the data collection and interior inspection of all residential, commercial and tax-exempt properties starting fall 2019.  Data collectors will have photo IDs, a letter of introduction from the Assessor’s Office and will be registered with the Clinton Police Department.  Contact the town if you are unsure of the identification that is being provided by Vision Government Solutions.  They will measure the exterior of all buildings and do a walk-through inspection of the interiors.  No entry will be made unless an adult occupant of 21 years of age is available and give permission.

As the project continues, an analysis will be done of all sales transactions in Clinton over the last two years with special attention to those sales leading up to the October date of valuation.   This will be followed by a field review of all parcels within the Town to insure the analysis has been properly applied to all real estate parcels.

Once the valuation work in completed in late 2020, residents will be notified of the new proposed assessments.  Individuals wishing to discuss their assessments with Vision staff will be able to schedule a review in Clinton.  Once the review process is complete, the new assessments will appear on the tax bills issued during the summer of 2021.
