[ARCHIVED] Town Marina Dredging Update 10/16/17


Good afternoon, 

 Effective immediately,  the Town Boat Ramp is now open and available. Please be reminder that there is active dredging taking place at the marina so please be careful and keep an eye out when in the area.


Public Works.  

Dredging Update 10/17/17

   The following work has been completed:

  • Town docks have been removed and stored safely in the harbor between the channel and Cedar Island.
  • We have identified 15 pilings that have significant marine borer damage which will require replacement. A change order to approve the replacement pilings is being processed. The project remains below budget.
  • Approximately 1600 Cubic Yards of dredged materials has been removed and disposed of in the approved dump site.  This represents 23% of the estimated 6800 cubic yards scheduled to be removed
  • Weather has prevented dredging operation on 4 days since the project started on October 9th.
  • Two additional dock fingers have been ordered and will be installed as part of this project.
  • The boat ramp remains closed and will be reopened when it is deemed safe.
  • The project remains on schedule to be substantially complete by November 1st,2017
