Dredging Update 10/17/17

   The following work has been completed:

  • Town docks have been removed and stored safely in the harbor between the channel and Cedar Island.
  • We have identified 15 pilings that have significant marine borer damage which will require replacement. A change order to approve the replacement pilings is being processed. The project remains below budget.
  • Approximately 1600 Cubic Yards of dredged materials has been removed and disposed of in the approved dump site.  This represents 23% of the estimated 6800 cubic yards scheduled to be removed
  • Weather has prevented dredging operation on 4 days since the project started on October 9th.
  • Two additional dock fingers have been ordered and will be installed as part of this project.
  • The boat ramp remains closed and will be reopened when it is deemed safe.
  • The project remains on schedule to be substantially complete by November 1st,2017
