Update regarding Absentee applications and Absentee Ballots for November.

The Secretary of State announced on August 18th that EVERY registered voter in the state of Connecticut will receive an application for an absentee ballot mid September. It will include an insert to better explain the process and timeline for ballot distribution. The administration of absentee ballots will be returned to the town clerks vs. using the clearinghouse. Returning the duty to the town clerks will allow for a more effective and timely administration of the ballots.

These are Absentee Ballots and not mail in ballots. There is a difference between the two: Absentee ballots need to be requested thus a paper trail. Mail in is not used in Connecticut and is a blanket mailing of a ballot to any and all registered voters. Thus the avenue for fraud.
