Town Marina Dredging and Boat Ramp Replacement Project

The Town Marina located on Riverside Drive provides the residents of Clinton with direct access to the harbor. The Marina is staffed and maintained by the Town and has undergone several major projects in the past ten years including a new bulkhead and deck improvements. The Marina provides boat slips on a lottery basis and launch ramp services for daily or annual fees. The marina generates in excess of $100,000 in revenue on an annual basis.  The dredging of the marina is one year behind schedule. As a result, approximately 25% of the slips are now either out of the water or the water level is so low the slips can’t be rented or must be rented at a reduced rate.   Dredging should occur on a five to seven-year cycle depending upon a variety of factors.  This is routine maintenance not a once in 30-year project. The Town has obtained a DEEP permit for the work.

The boat ramp has been in significant disrepair for many years resulting in injuries to users and damage to private property for others.  The ramp is a strict replacement project with no enhancements or increase in size.
